Christ Child Society of Naples Programs
Christ Child Society of Naples manages nine major programs in Collier County focused on our primary Mission objectives: Infant Care, Basic Needs, Literacy, and College/Technical School Scholarships.
BASIC NEEDS
LAYETTES: All national chapters of Christ Child Society provide layettes for newborn children in need. As part of the Naples project, members of Christ Child as well as friends and family members and women from area communities create blankets for each layette.
BRINGING BABY HOME: ”Bringing Baby Home” is a book about infant care, given to first-time mothers who are living at or below the poverty level in Collier County. The book is published in Creole, Spanish and English and is included with the layettes that CCSN provides to parents of newborn children.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BEDDING: CCSN donates beds and bedding for each child’s room in new Habitat for Humanity homes in Collier County. By donating beds and bedding for children’s rooms, Christ Child ensures that no child in a Collier County Habitat home is left to sleep on the floor.
GRACE PLACE: CCSN provides grant funding and/or volunteers to support this agency which focus on services for at-risk and impoverished children in our community.
Literacy
FUN TIME EARLY CHILDHOOD ACADEMY: Fun Time Early Childhood Academy provides affordable, quality early care and education for young disadvantaged children of low income families. CCSN volunteers work, as needed, in many areas, including the annual Valentine’s Day party. Christ Child Society has been providing both volunteers and financial support to Fun Time for more than two decades.
GOLDEN GATE & HERBERT CAMBRIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS: CCSN members volunteer many hours tutoring, mentoring, and working in the library. CCSN is also an active “business partner” with the school, contributing grant dollars to purchase various supplies for the children and equipment for the teachers.
Habitat Scholars Fund
Established in 2017 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our chapter, this program was created to motivate high school students living in Habitat for Humanity communities to continue their education with post-secondary degrees or certificates. Students competing for the awards are eligible for a renewable scholarship (up to $5,000 annually) to attend accredited four-year colleges, community colleges, and technical schools . The Christ Child Society Habitat Scholars Fund and the selection of recipients is managed by the Community Foundation of Collier County.
