Christ Child Society of Naples Grant Guidelines

Goal

To fairly evaluate and approve grant requests that best serve the goals of Christ Child Society of Naples (CCSN) by assisting other established agencies or organizations to meet the needs of underserved children of Collier County with infant care support, basic needs for children, literacy initiatives and scholarships.

Purpose

To establish a standard by which CCSN receives grant requests, evaluates grant requests and implements grants in accordance with the CCSN mission and with fiscal accountability as determined by the board.

Standards for Grantees

Organizations interested in receiving grants from CCSN shall:

  • Submit an application by February 1 of the year in which funding is requested. The application is located on the CCSN website: org.  CCSN’s fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30th. Grant requests received by February 1 of any given year that have a positive approval by the board shall be paid out at a date requested by the Grantee, but no earlier than July 1 of that same year and no later than June 30 of the following year.
  • Be as transparent as possible when identifying budget needs that are not funded by federal, state or local government programs or paid for by participants families. It is also helpful to identify the percentage of their unmet need that the grantee is requesting from CCSN.
  • Provide to CCSN a summary of the benefits of the Grant by the end of the grant cycle so CCSN may understand the impact the grant dollars had on the children served.
  • Provide information as requested by CCSN as a follow up to the grant that was issued.

Standards for Grantor Decision Making

Grants will be awarded on an annual basis to those approved organizations that serve children in a CCSN focus area:

  • Infant Care
  • Basic Needs
  • Literacy
  • Scholarship.

The board shall review all grant requests that are submitted using the agreed-upon evaluation form, make award decisions, and shall communicate award decisions to the organizations in a timely manner following the board decision. Interim grant requests may be considered and granted at the discretion of the board by majority vote.
